Overview

one tap away.

Profile for Rust puts the actions you reach for most one tap away on Stream Deck +: five pages of keys, with belt slots, scope zoom and volume on the dials. The Menu jumps to each page; Back returns to the Menu from every page.

Build: rotate, use, quick loot, inventory, crafting, map, light. Survive: reload, fire mode, light, quick loot, holster, examine. Comms: chat, voice, gestures, clan, compass, auto-walk. Vehicle: enter, exit, swap seat, map, compass, auto-walk.

Stream Deck +

five pages, one job each.

The Menu takes you to each page; Back brings you to the Menu. Every key sends one key press of Rust’s own controls.

Good to know

before you play.

  • One setting to make. The belt dial sends K and L instead of the mouse wheel. Open Options › Controls once and set K as second key for the previous belt slot and L for the next one.
  • Single keys only.Every key sends one key press of Rust’s own controls. No macros, no sequences, no timing, no console commands. Shooting, aiming and other mouse actions stay on the mouse.
  • Hold where the game holds.Hold the Stream Deck key for Rust’s held actions: map, gestures, voice, quick loot, and use for the radial menu.
  • Default keys. The keys follow Rust’s default controls. Changed one? CONTROLS.csv in the download lists what every key and dial sends.

Setup guide

setup.

Two minutes, no plugins.

  1. Set K and L for the belt in Rust. Once, in Options › Controls: K as second key for the previous belt slot, L for the next one.
  2. Double-click the profile file. Stream Deck adds it as a new profile. Updating? Delete the old Rust profile first: an imported profile is never updated in place.
  3. Pick the profile and play. Tip: in Edit Profiles you can link it to Rust, so Stream Deck switches to it when the game is in front.

FAQ

questions.

Why does the belt need a setting?

Rust changes belt slots with the mouse wheel, which Stream Deck can’t turn. The belt dial sends K and L instead: set them once as second keys for the previous and next belt slot, and the dial steps through your belt.

Does it use macros?

No. Each key sends one key press, like your keyboard, and the page keys only switch pages. No macros, no sequences, no timing, no console commands.

I changed a key in the game. What now?

CONTROLS.csv in the download lists what every key and dial sends. Set the same key in the game, or edit that action in Stream Deck.

Does it work on Mac or on other Stream Deck models?

No. It is made for Stream Deck + on Windows.

The profile sets up your Stream Deck; it doesn’t include the game. Windows only. Independent product by Frenetiq Design, not affiliated with or endorsed by Facepunch Studios or Elgato. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios, named only to identify the game this profile is designed for.
